How To Install And Connect The Rho Slack App

Setup happens in two stages: install the app into your Slack workspace, then connect the workspace to your Rho business. Installing alone connects nothing, so plan for both. Step 1: Install the app to your Slack workspace In the Rho web app, go to Settings → Integrations and find the Slack tile Select Connect to start the install Approve the app on Slack's consent screen If you can't install apps in your workspace: installing apps is a Slack workspace permission, and many workspaces restrict it. Use Ask a Slack admin on the same Integrations page. It copies a ready-made install request you can hand to whoever manages your Slack workspace. Some workspaces also queue app installs for admin review, so a quiet wait after requesting is normal. Step 2: Sign in with Rho Open the Rho app in your Slack sidebar and select Sign in with Rho . The link opens Rho's sign-in in your browser; once you finish, head back to Slack. Sign-in links are personal, so each teammate uses their own. Step 3: Connect your Rho business As a signed-in Rho Account Owner or Admin, run /rho-connect (or use the Connect Rho button on the app's Home tab). You will get a personal link to authorize the connection in your browser. The link expires shortly, so use it right away. Once authorized, the app confirms in Slack and walks you through setup: personal notifications, a notification channel for your team, and sharing the app with your workspace. Verify and manage the connection The active connection appears as a Rho for Slack row in the Rho web app under Settings → Linked Apps , with who approved it and when The Slack app's Home tab shows connection status: who connected it, when it last updated, and its health Connections lapse after 30 days without use. The Home tab warns before this happens and any Rho Admin can reconnect in seconds with /rho-connect. Revoking the Rho for Slack row in Linked Apps disconnects the workspace for all users.

Understanding The Rho Slack App

The Rho Slack App brings your Rho account into Slack: check balances, review recent transactions, get alerts when money moves, and ask questions about your finances without leaving your workspace. How access works Two separate things connect your team to Rho, and knowing the difference explains most of what you will see: The workspace connection. A Rho Admin links your Slack workspace to your Rho business, once. One workspace connects to one Rho business Sign in with Rho. Each person ties their own Slack identity to their own Rho account with a personal sign-in link. This is per-person and sits on top of the workspace connection Once both are in place, what you see in Slack follows your role in Rho. The Rho Slack App is available to Account Owners and Admins today, with support for more roles on the way. Teammates in other roles can sign in and express interest, and we will let them know when features for their role arrive. What you can do See balances and account details on the app's Home tab, or with /rho-accounts Review recent transactions with /rho-transactions Get alerts as DMs or in a private channel: daily balances, transaction activity, and card spend (Beta): Ask questions in plain language, like "How much have we spent on AWS this year? Built for privacy The Rho Slack App treats your financial data carefully by design: Private channels and DMs only. The app does not operate in public channels. If it is invited to one, it says so and removes itself Read-only connection. The workspace connection can view balances, transactions, and statements. It cannot move money or change anything in Rho Personal links. Every sign-in and connect link works only for the person it was sent to Your access, not your neighbor's. Command replies are visible only to you, and answers to questions asked in a channel arrive by DM

How To Set Up Rho Alerts In Slack

The Rho Slack App can tell you when money moves, in two places: Personal alerts : DMs to you, configured per person Notification channel : one private channel where alerts post for everyone in it, configured once per business Both offer the same three alert types: Alert What it sends Default Daily balance alerts A daily summary of your account balances 9:00 AM ET, every day Transaction notifications Money in and out above an amount you choose $1,000 Card activity alerts Card spend above an amount you choose $1,000 Set up personal alerts Open the Rho app's Home tab Under Alert settings → Personal alerts , select Enable Turn on the alerts you want, and set your own thresholds and delivery time if the defaults don't fit Set up a notification channel On the Home tab, under Alert settings → Notification channel , select Enable Choose a destination. Instant Setup creates a private #rho-notifications channel and adds you and Rho to it. Or pick an existing private channel: run /invite @Rho in the channel first, then select it here Choose which alerts post there and set thresholds Before you invite the team: channel alerts show real balances and transaction amounts to everyone in the channel, so only invite teammates who should see them. Good to know Alerts work in private channels only If your workspace doesn't allow apps to create channels, create a private channel yourself, run /invite @Rho in it, and pick it in settings If the Home tab shows Join channel instead of Manage, join the configured channel first, then reopen settings

How To Use The Rho Slack App

Commands Type /rho in any Slack message field: Command What it does /rho-accounts Your balances across accounts /rho-transactions Recent transactions, with a link to see everything in Rho /rho-help Everything the app can do, tailored to your setup /rho-feedback Send the Rho team a bug report, request, or note /rho signin, /rho-signout Manage your personal sign-in Command replies are visible only to you, even in a channel, so nothing personal lands in shared rooms. The Home tab Open the Rho app from your Slack sidebar for the dashboard view: available balance, your accounts, alert settings, connection status, and your signed-in identity. The balance menu includes Refresh and Open in Rho. (Beta) Ask questions in plain language Agent chat is in beta for select Rho businesses. When it is on for yours, ask questions three ways: DM the Rho app directly Mention @Rho in a private channel Type your question after /rho, like /rho how much did we spend on travel in July The agent answers using your live Rho data: balances, transactions, statements, and spend by vendor, category, or person. Every answer names its sources and includes a reminder that your Rho dashboard stays the source of truth. It is read-only, so it can look things up but never move money. A few useful mechanics: Questions asked in a channel are answered by DM, so your business data stays out of shared rooms Statement download links work for about 15 minutes; just ask again if one expires If you ask before signing in, sign in within 15 minutes and the app answers your original question automatically If agent chat is not on for your business yet, commands still work, and you can request beta access right from the app.
